FUNERAL RITES

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away”

Funeral Arrangements

How to have a memorial or funeral at St. Barnabas

Please contact the priest-in-charge as soon as possible to arrange for a service.  It is most appropriate to have the service at the church, however other arrangements can be made.  The priest-in-charge will ask for some assistance in designing the service, such as selecting readings, music and participants, in order to make it as comforting as possible.

The difference between a memorial and a funeral is if the remains of the departed are present at the service.

These services find their meaning in the Eucharist and the priest-in-charge will encourage the family to have communion during the service.

St. Barnabas currently does not have the facilities to inter or inurn cremains.

Hubbard Hall, the church’s parish hall, is available to use for a reception following the service or internment. Contact the church or a Vestry member if you would like help with hospitality and/or set-up.

We are available to assist you during difficult times, please contact us to set up Funeral Arrangements.
