Assisting During The Service

Do you have a desire to participate during the service?

Acolytes

Acolytes are ages 8 and up, and they provide age-appropriate assistance in any or all of the following areas: assist the priest at the altar for communion, lead the procession in and out of the sanctuary , light/extinguish the altar candles, assist with the Gospel reading by holding the book or torches, act as Acolyte Trainer to younger acolytes. Most acolytes like to attend the Diocesan Acolyte Festival in February, held at Trinity Cathedral in Trenton.

It’s fun to worship and participate at the same time!

Altar Guild

Join in the beauty of holiness by helping to prepare the altar and sanctuary for services, including the cleaning, maintaining and changing of the worship space’s linens, candles and altar hangings; cleaning and maintaining of the sacred vessels used for communion; and flower placement and seasonal decor appropriate to the worship space.

It’s rewarding to know that everyone will see and appreciate our efforts!

Greeters & Ushers

Greeters welcome all parishioners, especially newcomers, before and after the services.  They help newcomers with any questions they have about our service or Sunday school, present them a gift and show them the welcome table with info about us. Ushers help to find seats for people, pass out bulletins, collect the offerings, and help people needing assistance before and during the service. All you need is a big smile and a warm handshake to join our team!

Lay Eucharistic Ministers

Assists with the administering of the consecrated bread and wine at any celebration of the Eucharist, including to those parishioners who are unable to attend the service. (Priest in Charge)

Do You Have a Talent to Share by Joining Our Choirs?

No prior experience is necessary. We will teach you! Parishioners with instrumental musical experience can also play an offering as a soloist or by accompanying the choir. Let us know!

Senior Choir: Leads the congregation in song throughout the service and performs a Choir Anthem. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 7:30 - 9:00 pm and Sunday mornings prior to the 10:30 am service. The choir is on hiatus from July through August.

Tone Chime Choir: Plays the tone chimes periodically throughout the year, usually for Christmas or Easter services or other special Sundays. It’s a great way for families or children to participate!

If you are interested in honoring God by serving on any of these ministries, please see the leader for that ministry or the Priest in Charge, or any Vestry member after service.
